| Belgian’s late Burst to Victory
The 35th edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege was held on April 23, 1950.
The start list for the 1950 L-B-L continued to attract the biggest international stars.
Race Status:
Italian Fermo Camellini (Elvish) and German Jean Breuer (Automoto) broke away from the peloton before the ‘big’ turn in Bastogne.
After 150 kms off the front, the two were caught coming into Liege. (Camellini finished 14th, Breuer finished 16th)
A pack of 25 riders charged into the final km.
As he did at the 1946 L-B-L, Belgian Prosper Depredomme (Garin) jumped into the lead and gained his second prestigious L-B-L victory.
